Queen's meat

And here's an illustration I created for my participation in the Xenomorph exhibition at the Boskop Gallery.

The theme was simply "Xenomorph." So, naturally, being a huge creature fan, I immediately thought of that famous alien designed by H.R. Giger for Ridley Scott's film (which you absolutely must see). But I didn't just want to create fan art of the film. I wanted to add my own touch, my own sensibility, and my own ideas to pay homage to Giger's work. So I looked for a new design, drawing heavily on insects for inspiration. I wanted my creature to have a bestial appearance, almost like an ant queen. And here's the result. I'm quite proud of how it turned out. It allowed me to try new things that are part of my journey in being even better in concept art.
